Support the Oak Bay Resolution

Make Takaya’s death count.

Encourage your local government to vote for a moratorium on killing wolves at the UBCM

Takaya (and approximately 1200 other wolves) were legally killed in 2020 due to current archaic recreational wolf hunting regulations.

The Oak Bay resolution was passed on Vancouver Island in early 2021 and is now up to be adopted province wide by the Union of BC Municipalities (UBCM) September 15th, 2021. Simple, this is a moratorium on recreational wolf hunting, pending consideration of scientific and ethical concerns. (Full text here.)

To pass, the resolution must be endorsed by a simple majority of voting members of the UBCM this 15th of September, 2021.

If you live in B.C., your municipal councillors are members of the UBCM.

Please contact your municipal council by phone or email and encourage them to support the Oak Bay Resolution at the Annual Meeting of the UBCM in September 2021`!

You can find the contact information for all UBCM members here.
