Submit Your Howl

Thursday, March 24th marks the day that Takaya was killed by a hunter in 2020. Join us at sunset, wherever you are, in a collective howl that will be held in memory of Takaya and celebrate Wolf Awareness Day. This is a great way to further Takaya’s legacy and improve our human relationship with all wolves.

Takaya’s Legacy invites you to submit your wolf howl video, which may appear on our collaborative #GlobalHowl4Takaya Feed, to honour the life and legacy of this remarkable wolf!

We encourage you to share your howl video on social media and tag #GlobalHowl4Takaya and @TakayaLoneWolf.

Why Howl?

“Howling is a great way to let out the anguish and love that we are all feeling. It is also a way to ‘gather’ in honour of Takaya from all corners of our world. It’s a way to honour the role of wolves in our world. You can howl alone or together, indoors or out onto the street or on your balcony, howling to the stars or sun. You can howl once … or many times. Try it. You will see how great howling can feel.”
