Little Kids’ Art Contest: Ages 4-8

Big Kids’ Art Contest: Ages 9-12

Kids’ Writing Contest: Ages 0-12

Adult Art Contest (ages 12+)

Artwork must include an image of Takaya the wolf.

Writing Contest (ages 12+)

Submissions can be fiction or non-fiction, between 800-1000 words, and must address one of the following themes:

  • Takaya the wolf

  • Wolves and nature

  • Human / wildlife coexistence

How to Enter:

  • Email entries to info@takayaslegacy.com by 11:59pm March 31, 2021.

  • One piece of artwork may be submitted in each eligible category.

  • Art must be submitted as a digital image in JPG format.

  • Writing must be submitted as a PDF or Word Document.

Judging and Winners:

  • A panel of judges will review entries by category.

  • First place winners will be selected from each category

  • Winning entries will be published in the Times Colonist and will be featured on the social media pages of Russell Books, Rocky Mountain Books, and Takaya’s Legacy.

  • Winners will receive a copy of one of the following books:

    • Good Morning Takaya,

    • Takaya’s Journey

    • Takaya: Lone Wolf

  • Winners will be announced April 7, 2021.
